Clare McMillan

Clare McMillan playing guitar and singing in the Celtic band, CrossBow, at Irish on Ionia in Grand Rapids, Michigan for St. Patrick's Day
When Clare was asked in 2012 to play rhythm guitar for a group of freshman fiddlers, she said “sure – until you find someone else”. It’s been 6 years, so I guess she’s stuck with them.

Along with guitar, Clare is CrossBow’s lead vocalist and music director – which is really just a fancy title for being super bossy. She attended Grand Valley State University for her Bachelor of Music Education degree. Clare is a full-time school music teacher and private vocal/piano instructor in downtown Plymouth.

In her exceptionally limited free time, she enjoys strength training, reading, and mountain hikes. The tall man in the back is not her brother, but rather her husband. During Adam’s audition for the group in 2014, she leaned over to her fiddlin’ cousin Carly and said “I’ll take that one”. The rest is history.

Clare feels eternally grateful for the experiences and relationships that have come from being a part of this group. It will be one of “the greatest highlights of her life”.
